Owning Your Power, Claiming Your Magic: Scorpio New Moon Reflections

I’ve been moving slowly this Scorpio Season, and with this Scorpio New Moon.
Some energies ask us not to rush them, not to name them too quickly, but to sit with them, breathe with them, and let them reveal themselves in their own time.

And Scorpio reveals in its own time.

We’re now in the final hours of the Sun’s passage through Scorpio – or perhaps, by the time you read this, just past the threshold into Sagittarius. This is the tender in-between, the hinge between seasons, where we look back at what has shifted and revealed itself as the cycle turns.

Each New Moon is a sacred reset – a meeting of Sun and Moon, self and care, an ending of one cycle and the beginning of another, an opportunity to return to what matters.

When the Sun and Moon meet in Scorpio, the invitation goes deeper:

What no longer fits who you are evolving into?
What are you ready to lay down?
What are you ready to reclaim?

🌑 Scorpio Season: The Earth’s Invitation

Scorpio themes emerge from the season itself.
The Earth’s cycles are the original astrological text.

This time of year shows us the skeletal beauty of bare branches, the unadulterated essence of what remains once the leaves have fallen, and the quiet alchemy happening in the soil beneath our feet.

Unadulteratedness.
Essence.
Unmasked being.

darkness increasing → introspection
life composting underground → transformation

The fullness of the tree in every phase – leaf, branch, sap, soil, bud, decay, rebirth.
Nothing more or less real or important than anything else.
All of it the tree – the whole tree as the tree.
All of it the cycle of life, perfect in each of its phases.

Scorpio often gets mistaken for darkness.
But Scorpio is the light that pierces the dark –
the awareness that reveals what no longer belongs
so we can release it and return to our essence.

🌑 Magic + Power: Life Force and Self-Ownership

When I think of Scorpio, two things often first come to mind – Magic and Power.

For me, magic is not about theatrics or spectacle, waving a wand and instantly getting what you want.

Magic is the essence of this world.
Magic is the life force itself.

Everyone has their own kind of medicine, their own kind of magic – their own kind of power, essence, and life force.

Magic doesn’t have to be grand – sometimes magic is just making tea.
It’s presence.
It’s awareness.
It’s intention.
It’s channeling the life force that flows through you into your life.

And power – real power – is the same.

Not dominance.
Not force.
Not hierarchy.
Not the power we inherited from old systems.

We reclaim the word power from systems that used it to dominate.

Power is self-acceptance.
Power is owning all of who you are.
Power is the ability to stand inside your life without shrinking.
Power is presence – lived from the inside out.
Power is the ability to participate in transformation – in yourself, in your life, and in the lives you touch.

🌑 The Arc of Power Across a Lifetime

One of the beautiful things about circle last night was the multi-generational wisdom in the room. Women in their twenties through their seventies gathered, each living a different expression of power.

And you could feel the arc:

In our twenties, power often looks like seeking clarity – trying to understand who we are beneath layers of expectation.
In our thirties and forties, power becomes choosing what (and who) we will no longer carry.
In our fifties and sixties, power sharpens into discernment – a refusal to shrink, a deeper trust in our own knowing.
In our seventies, power often becomes essence – presence distilled, nothing extra, everything true.

On our path of stepping into our power, we are ever-evolving, ever-transforming.

The path of transformation isn’t a straight line.
Transformation asks us to become unrecognizable to ourselves for a while – to allow the sacred mess of the cocoon phase, the dissolution before emergence.

🌑 Personal Evolution & Collective Transformation

We are living through a collective metamorphosis with Pluto in Aquarius – the planet of depth and transformation moving through the sign of community, humanity, innovation, and liberation.

It’s a planetary reflection of the larger cycles we’re all swimming in.

Astrology doesn’t cause anything.
It’s not fate, not mechanism, not prediction.

Astrology gives us indicators of how the energy is flowing and moving, and what cycles we’re in – collectively and personally.

Pluto in Aquarius reflects deeper currents moving through the human experience:

deeper truths rising
systems dissolving
power redistributing
communities reorganizing
individuality strengthening within collective freedom

This is the medicine of Pluto in Aquarius:
empowered individuals strengthening empowered communities –
and empowered communities strengthening empowered individuals.

Our circles live right at this intersection.
Community as medicine.
The alchemy of women gathering as themselves,
and leaving more whole because we gathered together.
Power shared, not hoarded.
Magic awakened in the “we” that supports the “I.”

🌑 A Moment to Reflect

Before we close, take a breath.
Let your body settle.

Scorpio teaches through depth, through essence, through the parts of ourselves that only become visible when we slow down long enough to notice them.

As the cycle shifts, consider:

What does power mean to me now?
What does magic feel like in my life?
How do I embody them in real, grounded ways?
If I owned all of my power, what would shift?
If I allowed my magic to lead, what would open?

These aren’t questions to answer once –
they’re questions to evolve with.

I honor my power.
I honor my magic.
I honor all the parts of me that are evolving.
I reclaim what is mine.
I release what is not.
I return to myself, whole and holy.

As we cross this threshold from Scorpio into Sagittarius, may you carry the wisdom of this season with you. May these reflections support you in honoring who you are, granting yourself permission to evolve in your own timing, to honor your own depth, and to move forward with the power and magic that are already yours.
