Who am I?  What a question.  And isn’t that something we are always working to answer and understand?

Well, let’s start the easy part: Yes, that is the correct spelling of my name.  My father was inspired by the djinn (which many of you know as genies) and my name means magic maker or bearer.  This always inspires me about life and who I am and what I am here for.  

For those of you that know some astrology, I am a Scorpio with Sagittarius rising and a Pisces Moon and stellium of planets in Libra.  The gist of it is that I am intense, passionate, sensitive, and intuitive, and I am interested in transformation, personal power and freedom, knowledge, expansion, mystery, spirituality, and relationships.

Both of my parents (My father is Jayj Jacobs) and my grandfather (Don “Moby Dick” Jacobs) were professional astrologers.  I started practicing writing the astrological glyphs when I was learning to write the alphabet, and I have been surrounded with astrology my whole life. 

Thanks to my parents, I did my first transformational course when I was 7, and have spent my life doing courses, seminars, workshops and retreats on awareness, transformation and healing work of all kinds.  This work is at the core and informs my approach to astrology, and how I work with clients.

I am an autodidact and have been fascinated with, and studied all things mystical, magical, occult and spiritual since time immemorial.  I have always felt connected to my ancestors (4^th house moon) and who they are and where we come from is a part of who I am, and I stand on their shoulders with what has been passed on in memories and stories and genes.  I am of Celtic, Germanic, and Native American descent, and come from a long line of healers, astrologers, witches, medicine people, ministers, mystics and counselors.  These realms are the waters that I was born into and swim in.

I spent many years avoiding the family business for various reasons and finally realized that it was also my calling, and I could no longer resist it.   I have always wanted to make a difference in the world, and I see Astrology as a way for me to do that.

The older I get, the more and more fascinated with Astrology and its power I get.  As watery, intuitive and mystical as I am, I am also very practical and I like things to be useful (Venus in Capricorn and Mars in Virgo).  Astrology is so useful in so many ways. There is an art, science and language to Astrology that, when we learn it, it allows us to Integrate Wholeness in our Self and our life, and allows us celebrate all of our aspects so that both the light and the darkness can be loved.  I remember my father saying, “if God is all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-loving, don’t you think they’d give us some access, some map, to who we are and what we are here for?  That is what your Astrological chart is.  It is also your license to be exactly the way that you are and exactly the way that you’re not.” 

In some very dark times in my life (and in the good times), astrology has always brought me back to who I am and what’s possible. 

I have found that learning your self though Astrology, is like one day waking up and realizing that you are surrounded by tigers and you’re a zebra, or that you’re a fish in a tree wondering why you can’t fly or climb – Your whole life you’ve been struggling because your trying to be something that you’re not, and now you have permission and license to be your self, and access to the best version of YOUR SELF, and you can give your self some GRACE.
