I’m Jinnifer Murphy, founder of Cervine Space Astrology & Gatherings—third-generation astrologer, lifelong mystic, and magic maker devoted to helping people return to their truth, their timing, and their own deep cosmic rhythm.

I bring a transformational and spiritual approach to astrology, grounded in a rich family legacy and infused with my own lived experience, reverence for the divine feminine, and deep love for language, healing, and human potential.

Born and raised in the Bay Area and now based in Santa Rosa, I carry the legacy of three generations of professional astrologers, teachers, and spiritual guides. Astrology runs in my blood and breath—it’s the language my family spoke around the dinner table, and the lens through which I’ve always seen the world.

But it’s more than family tradition—it’s my calling.
It’s how I serve, how I listen, and how I help others remember who they are.

Who I Am

I’m a mother, a mystic, a lifelong energy worker, witch, and a priestess of moonlight and laughter.
I’m also a Reiki practitioner, a ULC minister, a women’s circle facilitator, and a lover of magic, dance, and depth.

Yes, that’s the correct spelling of my name.
My father was inspired by the djinn—mystical beings of air and fire—and named me Jinnifer: magic maker or bearer of magic. I like to think of that as a hint from the universe.

The Path I Walk

• I am a Scorpio Sun, Sagittarius Rising, and Pisces Moon—a deep feeler, meaning seeker, and spiritual channel.
• My Mercury, Jupiter, and Pluto are conjunct in Libra in my natal 11th house and solar 12th. Voice, vision, and transformation in service to collective healing.
• I host monthly New Moon Circles—sacred spaces that feel like a home for souls who are a little too deep for everyday life.
• My company, Cervine Space, is named after the medicine of the Deer—a sacred space of gentleness where both light and shadow are loved.
• I believe in the inherent dignity of all people and beings. I believe your life is sacred. And I believe you have the right to be exactly who you are—fully.

A Legacy Written in Stars

My father, Jayj Jacobs, and his father, Don “Moby Dick” Jacobs, were both highly regarded astrologers who originally set out to disprove astrology—and fell in love with it instead. “Nothing could survive for ten thousand years without having some merit—and without being full of misunderstanding and misinterpretation.”

My grandfather, a former Methodist minister and biblical scholar, left the church (and was gently nudged out for being too liberal), became one of the most respected astrologers of his time, and went on to teach astrology at the University of Hawaii. He passed just three months before I was born.

My father was a key figure in the astrological community, helped found AFAN (Association for Astrological Networking), and did important legal advocacy to help overturn outdated laws that restricted the practice of astrology. He was a beloved speaker, author, teacher, and pioneer until his passing in 2011, when I was 29 (and he was just 52).

My mother, Paula, began as my father’s client and became his student and business partner. She remains a powerful voice and teacher in our lineage—and continues to teach me to this day.

I Grew Up Speaking Astrology

I was practicing glyphs alongside the alphabet.

I was 7 years old when I did my first transformational course, and I grew up inside the conversations of healing, language, awareness, and wholeness. My personal studies and practice have included mysticism, energy work, magic, and the occult arts for as long as I can remember.

For a long time, I resisted stepping fully into astrology as my profession—even though I was born into it. But eventually, I relented.
It was clear that this was my calling—and the most powerful way I could make a difference in the world.

My Style & Philosophy

At its best and fullest expression, astrology is not about prediction.
It’s a language of permission and possibility—a way to work with yourself, not against yourself.

My work is rooted in this belief:
“There are no bad signs. There are no bad placements. There are no bad aspects. Period. End of story.”
