The story of Deer has always lived close to my heart.
It’s been a guiding light, a favorite myth, and the soul of this work—an ever-returning invitation to walk the path with gentleness, clarity, and grace.

The name Cervine Space is rooted in this story.

In Jamie Sams’ Medicine Cards, Deer is the one who softens fear with compassion.
When others were stopped by the demons guarding the way to Sacred Mountain, it was Fawn—innocent and luminous—who walked straight through.
Not because she overpowered the fear…
But because she met it with love.

Deer teaches us to hold the wounded parts of ourselves, and others, with tenderness.
